NRTC is Hiring a Remote Logistics Specialist (Remote)

Job SummaryAs Logistics Specialist, you will work hand-in-hand with various departments within the organization to effectively meet the material requirements of members, maximizing opportunities and minimizing shortages. You will develop a deep understanding of the needs of members and take required action to make sure that the needs are met, thereby maintaining and developing positive business relationships. You will need to understand the financial impact of tracking, member invoicing, and revenue.
Responsibilities
  • Develop delivery schedules to ensure the availability and allocation of materials based on orders, including redesigning movement of materials to minimize costs
  • Coordinate, track and execute logistics plan to move products and packages to reach destinations on schedule
  • Keep track and maintain real time record keeping of what a member has been shipped and has received.
  • Assist in resolving delivery discrepancies and ensure all requirements are met per member needs.
  • Team with Accounts Payable to resolve member invoice discrepancies.
  • Interface with vendors on behalf of PMO, working to ensure timelines are met
  • Serve as internal liaison between PMO and SCM, assisting with establishing priorities and tracking assignments.
  • Assist in forecasting and material management through planning, directing, and coordinating the transportation, storage, and distribution of goods
  • Review freight rates and other transportation costs to keep costs low
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience with ERP systems, and specifically Oracle NetSuite
  • Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Good interpersonal skills and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent time management and organization skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks and deliver results within critical deadlines
  • Ability to interact in a positive manner with internal and external customers
Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics or Business preferred
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in logistics management or coordination preferred
  • Microsoft Excel experience preferred
  • Telecom and/or electric power industry experience preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with cooperatives a plus
Physical Demands
  • Work is typically performed in a remote setting
  • Occasionally travel may be required
